What time does the 2019 Kentucky Derby start?

The biggest horse racing event of the year is finally here, and the field is wide open after early favorite Omaha Beach was forced out of the annual run for the roses due to a medical issue.

Weather could play a major role in the race, as rain throughout the afternoon is expected and will create sloppy conditions for the 145th Kentucky Derby. Forecasts currently call for a 70 percent chance of precipitation in the hours before the race, tapering off to 40 percent by post time.

Post time for the 2019 Kentucky Derby is 6:50 p.m. ET. The race will be broadcast on NBC.

You can stream the race online via NBC Sports Live, or on your mobile device via the NBC Sports app.
