What Son Heung-min did with Rodon, Kulusevski and Bergwijn ahead of Manchester City clash

Tottenham announced their summer preseason tour on Tuesday, which will be held in South Korea in July.

Spurs wanted to make the trip in 2020 but with the pandemic hitting, those plans were put on hold until this summer.

The Lilywhites tours usually consist of three matches but with lost revenue from the last couple of years that they have missed out on going abroad, Tottenham could push to add a second leg to this planned tour.

The World Cup will take place later this year and there will be disruptions during the summer break, with the three Nations League matches being played in June, just after the conclusion of the 2021/22 season.

"During our visit this summer, Antonio Conte’s team will play two exhibition matches in the Coupang Play Series, organised and promoted by Pitch International and Coupang – venues, dates, opposition and how fans can watch to be announced in due course," the club website explained in Tottenham's announcement of the tour.

It will be the third time the Spurs squad have travelled to South Korea and with it being Son Heung-min's home country, he expressed he excitement of the tour.

"I am extremely excited to be returning home to South Korea this summer alongside my Spurs team-mates – for most of whom this will be their first visit," he admitted. "I can’t wait to see their reaction to the passionate Korean fans and the incredible atmosphere in what we are sure will be packed out stadiums for our matches."

For now, Spurs will want to have a strong final few months of the season, hoping to finish in the top four and even still the prospect of some silverware in the FA Cup.

After two defeats at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, in their most recent matches against Southampton and Wolves, the Lilywhites travel to the Etihad on Saturday and Conte will hope for a positive reaction from his team.

Ahead of the tie and after the announcement of the tour, Son and some of his Tottenham teammates took it upon themselves to make a promotion video.

The footage saw the 29-year-old trying to teach new arrival Dejan Kulusevski, Steven Bergwijn and Joe Rodon some South Korean to then create the clip.

The video shows the trio struggling to copy what Son was trying to teach them and included them all laughing and joking around at one another's attempts.

The South Korean then shows his Spurs teammates some traditional games, the first being Jegichagi, which saw them kicking a paper jegi like kick-ups.

Son then showed the trio the game Ddakji, which involves two folded square pieces of paper and the game is won by flipping the other player's card, a bit like the children's milk cap game.

Footage of the Tottenham men playing their newly taught games, speaking in South Korean and clips of previous Spurs goals were all put together to make the promo video, which asked fans what they want to see their team doing when they travel abroad.
