What’s on TV this week: 'Hard Knocks,' Field of Dreams game, 'A League of Their Own' series and more

Sunday

“37th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards” (BET, 8 p.m. ET): They’re making a joyful noise in this new special.

“My Life as a Rolling Stone” (Epix, 9 p.m.): Mick Jagger is the first of four members of the British rock band profiled in this new docuseries.

“Menendez Brothers: Misjudged?” (Investigation Discovery, 9 p.m.): This new special reopens the case of the two siblings convicted for the 1989 murders of their wealthy parents.

Monday

“Darby and Joan” (Acorn TV): Bryan Brown and Greta Scacchi drive around in a van solving mysteries in this Aussie comedy drama.

“Running Wild With Bear Grylls” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.): Ashton Kutcher is the next up on the survival show.

“POV” (PBS, 10 p.m.): The 2021 documentary “President” tracks a political upstart’s uphill campaign to become Zimbabwe’s next leader.

Tuesday

“America Outdoors With Baratunde Thurston” (PBS, 9 p.m.): Minnesota is the destination in the season finale.

“Tales” (BET, 9 p.m): This anthology series inspired by classic hip-hop lyrics drops its third season.

“Password” (NBC, 10 p.m.; also Wednesday): They'll keep you guessing in a star-studded prime-time reboot of the classic game show. "Nope's" Keke Palmer hosts.

“Big Bad Budget Battle” (Food Network, 10 p.m.): Amateur cooks have to stretch that dollar in this new competition. Ree Drummond hosts.

“Hard Knocks: Training Camp With the Detroit Lions” (HBO, 10 p.m.): The sports docuseries kicks off its 17th season.

Wednesday

“I Am Groot” (Disney+): Everyone’s favorite sapling from the MCU takes center stage in a series of shorts.

“Locke & Key” (Netflix): The kid-friendly fantasy drama returns with its third and final season.

“So You Think You Can Dance” (Fox, 9 p.m.): The winner is announced in the season finale. Cat Deeley hosts.

Thursday

“The Ms. Pat Show” (BET+): This sitcom starring comic Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams launches its sophomore season.

“Stay on Board: The Leo Baker Story” (Netflix): The pro skateboarder opens up about his journey as a trans man in this new sports doc.

“Why Not Us: Southern Dance” (ESPN+): Southern University’s Dancing Dolls put their best feet forward in a new season of this docuseries.

“MLB at Field of Dreams” (Fox, 7 p.m.): The Chicago Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds meet in Iowa at the annual contest inspired by the 1989 sports drama.

“Bump” (the CW, 8 and 8:30 p.m.): An Aussie high schooler finds herself with a bun in the oven in this imported comedy-drama.

“Great Chocolate Showdown” (the CW, 9 p.m.): Amateur bakers get their just desserts in this new competition.

“Alone: Frozen” (History, 9 p.m.): Contestants freeze their butts off in this new entry in the outdoor-survival franchise.

“It’s CompliPlated” (Food Network, 10 p.m.): Contestants try to please a panel of picky eaters in this new culinary competition.

Friday

“Cosmic Love” (Netflix): The fault lies not in their stars but in themselves in this new astrologically inspired matchmaking series.

“Day Shift” (Netflix): It’s hard out here for a vampire hunter in this L.A.-set 2022 action/horror/comedy mash-up starring Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dogg.

“Five Days at Memorial” (Apple TV+): This new series dramatizes events at one overwhelmed New Orleans hospital in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

“A League of Their Own” (Prime Video): Play ball! "Broad City's" Abbi Jacobson and "Parks and Recreation's" Nick Offerman star in this new series based on the hit 1992 movie.

“Never Have I Ever” (Netflix): This coming-of-age comedy starring Maitreyi Ramakrishnan returns for Season 3.

“Post Malone: Runaway” (FreeVee): The heavily tatted, genre-splicing rapper is profiled in this new documentary.

“Rogue Agent” (AMC+): This 2022 fact-based thriller retells the twisted tale of a con man (“Happy Valley’s” James Norton) who passed himself off as a British spy.

“Secret Headquarters” (Paramount+): Wow! Suburban dad Owen Wilson moonlights as a superhero in this family-friendly 2022 comedy.

“13: The Musical” (Netflix): A bar mitzvah boy (Eli Golden) navigates life at a new school in the Big Apple in an adaptation of the Broadway show.

“This Fool” (Hulu): Stand-up comic Chris Estrada stars in this new comedy set in South L.A.

“Viagra: The Little Blue Pill That Changed the World” (Discovery+): Everything you always wanted to know about the erectile dysfunction drug is revealed in this new documentary.

“Children of the Underground” (FX, 8, 9, 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.): This new docuseries tracks one woman’s efforts to shelter victims of domestic violence.

“RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race” (VH1, 8 p.m.): More famous faces tease, tweeze and twirl as the competition returns.

“CMT Summer Camp” (CMT, 9 p.m.): Little Big Town performs in Greensboro, Georgia, in this special.

“Hamster & Gretel” (Disney, 9:35 p.m.): A grade schooler and her pet rodent are transformed into superheroes in this new animated comedy.

“CMT Campfire Sessions” (CMT, 10 p.m.): Brett Eldredge does some pickin' and grinnin' in this new episode.

Saturday

“Romance in Style” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.): A plus-sized fashion designer hooks up with a hunky fashion-mag publisher in this TV movie.

“The Princess” (HBO, 8 p.m.): Diana, Princess of Wales, is remembered in this new documentary.

“In Love With My Partner’s Wife” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.): A police detective crosses the line in this new thriller.

“South Park: The 25th Anniversary Concert” (Comedy Central, 10 p.m.): Trey Parker, Matt Stone and special guests celebrate the off-color animated series.
