What medals does Prince Harry have as he shows off awards at Jubilee service

Prince Harry has made a return to the UK with his wife Meghan Markle as the pair visit for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The couple moved to the US in 2020 but are now back in England to celebrate the Queen’s 70-year reign.

Prince Harry wasn’t on the Buckingham Palace balcony with other senior royals for Trooping the Colour yesterday as he’s no longer a “working royal”.

However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen at St Paul’s Cathedral today.

The pair were welcomed to the cathedral by cheers from the crowds outside and while Harry wore a simple black suit, eyes were drawn to the many medals he was wearing for the service.

Harry did 10 years of active service in the British Army and throughout his decade-long military career he racked up several medals.

It’s tradition for the royals to wear their medals at important events. Here are all medals that Harry has, as well as the medals that other members of the Royal Family have been spotted wearing.

Prince Harry had a distinguished career in the military - he rose to the rank of Captain and performed two tours of Afghanistan, and as a result he picked up a number of medals.

In 2002 Harry was awarded the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal, which was given to everyone who was in active service on February 6 2002 and had been in the forces for five years.

In 2008 the Duke received an Operational Service medal to mark his service on the frontline in Afghanistan.

In 2012 Harry got the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal, which marked the monarch's sixtieth year on the throne and was awarded to all those in the Armed Forces, emergency services, prison services and members of the Royal Household.

He was also wearing the new Platinum Jubilee medal, created this year to commemorate the Queen’s 70-year reign.

There had been speculation that Prince Harry and Andrew may not receive the medal because they have stepped down from royal duties, but Harry was pictured wearing his at the Jubilee service today.

Harry also wears the KCVO Neck Order and Star, which is awarded for personal service to the monarchy.

In 2015 the prince was knighted by his grandmother for his service to her and was made a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (KCVO).

Mike Tindall, who is married to Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Tindall, was also seen showcasing his medals at the Jubilee service today.

It was the second Jubilee event that Mike and Zara have attended, after being spotted at Trooping the Colour yesterday.

As they arrived at the Cathedral today Mike could be seen wearing several medals.

Like Harry, the former English rugby player was also awarded the Diamond Jubilee medal and the Platinum Jubilee medal.

He also has an MBE, which stands for Member of the Order of the British Empire, and is awarded for an outstanding achievement or service to the community.

Like his brother, Prince William also has the Golden, Diamond and Platinum Jubilee medals.

The future king also has a Garter Star, which he was awarded in 2008 in recognition of his loyalty and service to the monarch.
