What Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have text Neymar about Barcelona transfer

The Barcelona players would welcome Neymar back with open arms this summer - and the wantaway Paris Saint-Germain star has kept in touch with close pals Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez since quitting the Nou Camp.

Neymar has made clear his desire to quit PSG ahead of next season and it is understood that his former Spanish club are leading the race to secure his services.

PSG are prepared to sell striker Neymar, French media reports claimed last weekend, as chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi warned that irresponsible behaviour from players won't be tolerated anymore.

Brazil international Neymar joined the Ligue 1 side from Barcelona for a world record £200million in August 2017.

However, he missed large parts of the 2018-19 campaign through injury and suspension and made just 17 league appearances, scoring 15 goals.

His two years in Paris has also been overshadowed by his antics off the pitch and PSG will consider selling the 27-year-old in the forthcoming transfer window if they receive a substantial offer.

And Spanish daily Sport has suggested that the Barca stars have messaged Neymar to ask whether the rumours of a potential return are true.

And a number have apparently sent messages encouraging him to return to Camp Nou.

The Brazilian superstar is also still in a WhatsApp group with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez - called 'The three sudacas' - with the trio having formed a deadly partnership during their time together.

It is also claimed that Messi, Suarez and Co would support the decision, which is in contrast to the rumoured signing of Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann.

Griezmann's 'The Decision' documentary last year - in which he announced that he would be staying at Atletico despite being courted by Barca - seemingly left a bad taste in the mouth of several Barca board members who were convinced he was going to join them.

And now he has done a U-Turn this summer and is pushing for a move to the Nou Camp, current Barca stars are reportedly unhappy about the potential arrival, believing it could cause unrest in the dressing room.

That isn't the case for Neymar, though, with the Brazilian earning hero status in Barcelona during four seasons with the European heavyweights.

The former Brazil captain won two La Liga titles and a Champions League triumphs during his spell with Barca, and would no doubt bolster their attacking ranks ahead of the new campaign.
