For fairness, we looked at the date November 14 at 10am, and return November 15 10am. A return ticket for Edinburgh to Glasgow with City Link via citylink.co.uk can set you back £14.50. Meanwhile an open off-peak return ticket with Scotrail is 30p cheaper at £14.20 and allows you more flexibility as to when you want to come home.

However, we also looked at Megabus, and for the same dates as mentioned, you can pick up a return ticket if you book on Friday November 11 for £3.90 each way. Of course, these prices can change depending on demand and how close it is to the day of departure.
