Outgoing Juventus director of football Fabio Paratici has refused to be drawn on speculation linking him with joining Tottenham Hotspur and becoming the club's new sporting director.
After 11 years with the Serie A giants, the 48-year-old is reportedly poised to move to England and become Spurs' new sporting director, as chairman Daniel Levy looks to make adjustments to his top team of staff off the pitch.
Although links connecting Paratici with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium have emerged at the same time as Spurs looking to attract fellow Italian Antonio Conte to north London to become the club's new head coach, both pursuits are understood to be separate, although the pair have worked together in the past.
Today, Paratici has bid a fond farewell to his trophy-laden spell in Turin, with it appearing likely that he will now take on a new role in England.
However, when quizzed on the connections linking him with the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Paratici remained tight-lipped, even though he admitted that his family hopes he can find a new role "quickly."
"I don’t think this is the right time to talk about other clubs today it’s my Juventus farewell today," Paratici said, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
“My family hopes that I will find a job quickly.
“Working at Juventus is a real education in terms of mentality and style. Obviously, you hope to learn something at every club, but I will certainly bring that with me in future."
While bringing in Paratici would be seen as a smart and wise move, landing a new head coach remains Levy's top priority.
The Spurs owner has been on the hunt for a new boss for the best part of three months following Jose Mourinho's sacking in mid-April.
But his search, so far, has been to no avail, with interest in the likes of Julian Nagelsmann, Brendan Rodgers and Ajax's Erik ten Hag coming to nothing.
After making an attempt to bring Mauricio Pochettino back to north London, Levy has now turned to Conte, with Spurs hopeful of getting a deal done so long as no last-minute snags are encountered during negotiations.
