What can and can't you take into Parklife 2022?

When you purchase a ticket to Parklife, you are essentially agreeing to the festival's terms and conditions.

And while it's very tempting to skip over these during the sign-up process, it includes some very important rules regarding what festival-goers are allowed to take with them to the festival. Breaking some of these rules can result in you either being kicked out of the festival early or even getting in trouble with local authorities.

Obvious things that can't be taken to the Heaton Park event are illicit drugs and alcohol, including so-called 'legal highs' such as Nitrous Oxide - often referred to as 'laughing gas'. However, other contraband items may be regular items you take with you everywhere.

For example, Parklife explicitly states that no umbrellas and bikes are allowed on-site which spells bad news for festival-goers who cycled all the way to the festival. Here's a complete list of items that are not permitted at the festival, according to Parklife's terms and conditions :

  • Do obey the laws of the land. Drugs are no more legal at a festival than in the outside world. Drug dealing and consumption will not be tolerated. Parklife has zero tolerance for legal highs.

  • No Alcohol or liquids of any kind

  • No drugs including ‘legal highs’

  • No knives or weapons

  • No aerosols, sprays or pressurised containers permitted

  • No Glass

  • No Umbrellas

  • Admission is subject to search

  • No under 17’s – 17 year olds must be accompanied by a responsible guardian aged 18 or over. (Maximum of 4 under 18’s per responsible guardian).

  • No food

  • No perfumes or aftershaves

  • No dogs

  • No flares or fireworks

  • No bikes

  • No re-entry

  • No High Visibility Vests or Coats

  • No rucksacks or large bags (small bags (that are not rucksacks) are allowed into the festival with the dimensions W21cm x H30CM x D8cm (A4 Size)).

  • No Selfie-Sticks

  • Filming and photography in the gate areas is strictly prohibited

So what things can you take to Parklife? We've compiled a list of essential items to take to the festival which are permitted:

  • ID
  • A waterproof coat or poncho (since no umbrellas are allowed)
  • Sunglasses
  • Toilet roll or wet wipes.
  • Any legal medication you may need (You may need to bring proof of prescription)
  • A power bank for your phone
