POLLING day is looming for candidates in an upcoming Westminster by-election and bookmakers have identified the party they think will come out on top.
Voters will cast their ballots in the Arbroath and Broughty Ferry election this Thursday after Stephen Gethins ditched Westminster for Holyrood.
The contest is one of three by-elections taking place on the same day, with Makerfield and Aberdeen South also in contention.
Gethins, like his SNP colleague Stephen Flynn, quit Westminster after being elected as an MSP in May.

The SNP are the bookies’ favourite to win. Betfred has the party on 1/12 with Reform behind on 10/1.
Labour have odds of 16/1 while the Tories are on 33/1. The Greens and the LibDems are both longshots with odds of 250/1.

The SNP are standing Lara Bird while Reform UK have put forward Bill Reid.
