Wetherspoons announce opening date for long-awaited new Cross Gates pub

The opening date for an eagerly-anticipated new JD Wetherpoon pub in Leeds has been revealed.

The opening of The Charles Henry Roe, in Cross Gates, was supposed to happen earlier this year but was delayed in no small part because of the coronavirus pandemic.

As the government has now allowed the reopening of bars and restaurants as part of their continued easing of lockdown measures, Spoons, has now turned their attentions to opening their new Leeds venue.

The pub chain confirmed to us the Charles Henry Roe will be open to customers from Tuesday, July 28. Then you’ll be able to enjoy all their favourites.

For those of you who can't wait for it to open we have had a sneak peek at some CGI images of the plans for the Charles Henry Roe to how the venue will appear.

Like any current visit to pub, you'll need to be aware your visit to the Charles Henry Roe won't be quite your usual experience at a boozer. Spoons has introduced a host of new measures to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.

These changes include the introduction of hand sanitising stations around pubs, Perspex screens at bars and customers are being strongly encouraged to make their orders on the Wetherspoons mobile app.

You can find out more about how the hospitality industry in our city is adapting to coronavirus by visiting out Best in Leeds homepage.

We'll also try to bring you a sneak peek at the new Spoons before it opens.
