West Lothian man exposed himself to mother and child at train station

A man has been given almost a year behind bars after exposing himself in front of a mother and child at Uphall Station in West Lothian.

On May 27 at around 2:25pm Robert Black, 60 of Whiteside, Bathgate was arrested and charged by the British Transport Police for sexual exposure.

He appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court on Tuesday, July 6 where he pled guilty to a reduced charge of public indecency.

He was given 356 days imprisonment, reduced to 328 days due to time served and was placed on the sex offenders list for 10 years.

BTP Detective Constable Crawford Gillies said: “Unwanted sexual behaviour will not be tolerated on the rail network.

“Everyone has the right to travel on the network and in stations without being subjected to this unacceptable behaviour.

“We work closely with our rail industry colleagues to make sure your journey remains safe and free from harassment or abuse.
