West Lothian football player Kirstie McIntosh has signed for Hearts.
The women’s game recently restarted after having to stop during lockdown and Kirstie is delighted to be back kicking a football again.
The Scotland internationalist recently signed up with the Jam Tarts and is looking forward to teaming up with Paige McAllister.
Kirstie and Paige are both from Bathgate and played together at school, but will now be linking up together at the pinnacle of the women’s game in Scotland.
Kirstie said: “Linking up with Paige who’s also from Bathgate was good as it’s always nice to see a familiar face at a new club.
“She’s a great player and I’m looking forward to sharing a pitch with her like we have done for many years at school and hopefully can build another good partnership on the pitch at Hearts.”
It has been a long road to get to the top of the game for Kirstie, starting out locally with Linlithgow Rose before moving onto Rangers for short spell and then signing on with Hamilton Accies.
This helped her achieve international recognition and Kirstie represented Scotland at the under-19 European Championships in 2019.
Now she is eager to get started with Hearts.
She added: “Making the move to hearts is exciting as football has restarted in the SWPL so I’m eager to get back on the pitch after a long lay off.
“It’s a step up in league so I’m looking forward to the challenge of playing against the top teams and competing with full time professionals.
“The standard of training and intensity has been really enjoyable and I’m looking forward to taking that into the remaining games of this season.
