A West Lothian dad is now recovering in hospital after an explosion at his home.
Bill Mazs, 56, saw the emergency services rush to his Whitburn home after the sudden blast on Tuesday morning (December 8).
Neighbours on Dixon Road were able to rescue Bill and his dog from the blaze, where he thankfully only suffered a few minor burns.
Police, fire crews and ambulances were called to the home after the explosion tore a hold in the side of the building, with huge flames escaping from the property.
Now, Bill's family have confirmed he is doing well in hospital, and has been able to avoid any critical injuries.
A post on a community Facebook group read: “Bill is doing ok, he has a few minor burns, he’s comfortable in hospital and we should know better over the next few days.
“Thanks for everyone’s concern.”
Replying to the update, many local residents gave their well wishes, with one saying: "Good news, sending our love."

Discussing the incident, a police spokesman said: “Around 9.30am on Tuesday, 8 December, 2020, police and emergency services were called to a report of an explosion in a house in Dixon Road, Whitburn.
"The male householder was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and another man was treated by paramedics at the scene."
