West Ham vs Chelsea prediction: Jesse Lingard can frustrate Tuchel's top four chances

A huge six-pointer for Champions League football will happen today.

West Ham are 19/5 with Betfred while Chelsea are the favourites at 3/4 and a draw is 11/4.

Both sides are tied on points but Chelsea have the upper-hand on goal difference meaning the Blues are fourth and the Irons are fifth.

The difference is a place in one of club football's most prestigious competitions, the other is a frustrating time on a Thursday night.

While many neutrals will be hoping and praying for West Ham to secure a place to play against the likes of Barcelona, AC Milan and PSG.

While the bookies may well back Chelsea on this but West Ham have tasted defeat just once in their last ten home league matches so it would be silly to write off the hosts quickly.

Tips

  • Jesse Lingard to score anytime - 9/4
  • Both teams to score - 10/11

Of course, one player who has contributed to West Ham's meteoric rise this season has been Jesse Lingard.

I backed him to score against Leeds United, Arsenal, Wolves, Leicester City and Newcastle United which have all come in so I am surprised to see him priced at 9/4 to score anytime.
