Lukasz Fabianski - Dealt with a difficult cross well in the first-half but was largely untroubled with little in the way of a save to make. 5
Vladimir Coufal - Got forward well but did not see enough of the ball to make an impact. Solid in defence when required. 6
Craig Dawson - Dominant in the air and made a couple of decent clearances. Caught out trying to steal the ball in front of Armando Broja who went onto hit the post, a very lucky escape. 5
Angelo Ogbonna - Dealt with Adam Armstrong with ease and won everything in the air that came his way. 6
Aaron Cresswell - Controlled the threat of Nathan Redmond well and attempted to push forward, poor set-piece delivery. 5
Declan Rice - Provided a solid screen alongside Tomas Soucek and drove forward well. Tidy in possession but a steady Eddie type of performance rather than an eye-catching one. Won West Ham a point with his goalline clearance at the death. 6
Tomas Soucek - Came close to an opening goal but just couldn't get his head on a dangerous corner. Pushed forward well in the second half to get into a number of dangerous positions. 6
Pablo Fornals - Saw a lot more of the ball in the second half and kept possession ticking over for West Ham. 6
Jarrod Bowen off 83 - Looked the most likely player to break the deadlock in the opening 45 minutes with his pace causing Southampton problems down the right. Continued to be the Hammers main threat as the game wore on. 7
Said Benrahma off 62 - A very quiet first-half from the Algerian who saw little of the ball and struggled to make an impact in the game. Eventually replaced by new signing Nikola Vlasic. 4
Michail Antonio - Close to an opener only to be denied by Alex McCarthy. Did an important job holding the ball up and provided a stiff physical opponent for the Saints backline. Sent off in the final minute after a late and careless tackle to receive a second yellow card. 5

Nikola Vlasic on 62 - Replaced the ineffectual Said Benrahma and instantly looked to make an impact with a driving run. Found some good pockets of space and was always looking to receive the ball. 6
