West Ham player ratings vs Leicester: Snodgrass superb, Perez scores but Balbuena struggles

Lukasz Fabianski - 7

Made a couple of routine saves in the first half, two from Maddison. Couldn't do much with Vardy's equaliser. Very authoritative from crosses.

Pablo Zabaleta - 7

Excellent tackle on James Maddison midway through the first half stopped a promising Foxes counter attack.  Good second half, really didn't do much wrong whatsoever.

Angelo Ogbonna - 7

Could have done better with a decent headed chance from Snodgrass's corner in the first half. Good after the break as well, a solid outing from the Italian. Picked up a knock after half time but seemed to shrug it off comfortably.

"He still plays football?" Jack Wilshere returns to West Ham's squad for Leicester City clash

Fabian Balbuena - 6

Solid in the first half against Jamie Vardy, didn't give the England striker much to work with in the first period. Different story in the second as the shrewd Vardy got ahead of the defender to poke home the equaliser.  Struggled in the final 20 minutes as he he lost his bearings all too often after the break.

Arthur Masuaku - 7

Started the game well, won the ball aggressively. Showed good patience in the build up to Antonio's goal. Almost caught out in the second half after trying to play offside and just got away with it. Fizzed in two excellent crosses in the second half but lost Barnes for the late equaliser.

Declan Rice - 7

Made on typically important interception right on the stroke of half time and was, as always, calm and composed in the middle of the park. Booked in the 70th minute. Patrolled the midfield like he owned the place.

Mark Noble - 7

Terrific cross with his left foot, on a plate for Antonio to head home the opener. Faded badly after half time and was given the run around by Wilfred Ndidi. But, he continued to put himself about and threw his body on the line. Subbed for Wilshere to a standing ovation.

Robert Snodgrass - 8

His usual nuisance. Did well to create a chance for Antonio after robbing Tielemans of the ball 25 yards out from goal and his delivery from corners was absolutely on the money. Harshly booked just after half time and then subbed off with just under 20 minutes to go, looked exhausted. Got through a serious amount of miles.

Felipe Anderson - 6

Didn't really get into the game in the first half, certainly didn't see enough of the ball to do anything with it. Had a couple of decent runs after the break but nothing really exciting.

Michail Antonio - 7

Showed plenty of running and willing play in the first half and had its best chance, failing to convert from ten yards out under heavy pressure from Maguire. Made up for it ten minutes before half time as he planted a brilliant header past Schmeichel to make it 1-0.  Quiet second half, looked exhausted.

Marko Arnautovic - 6

Ran down too many dead ends and the service into him from midfield wasn't the best in the first half especially. Only really had half chances in the game but certainly put a shift in.

West Ham manager and captain reflect on tragic day when they last faced Leicester

Substitutes

Pedro Obiang (for Snodgrass, 73') - 6

It was his shot that hit the post for Perez to tap home the winner. One excellent tackle on Maddison stopped a Foxes counter but was left for dead by Barnes for the second equaliser.

Lucas Perez (for Arnautovic, 77') - 7

Meant business from the moment he came on. Three excellent pieces of hold up play and scored the winner. Quite the impact.

Jack Wilshere (for Noble, 85') - 5

Got valuable minutes under his belt, even if it was only five.
