West Ham in bizarre Dens Park photo post as Dundee stadium front and centre for Premier League clash

West Ham United bizarrely posted a photo of Dens Park on social media ahead of their opening match of the Premier League campaign.

The Hammers kicked off against Newcastle United in their season opener at St James' Park this afternoon.

They did however raise eyebrows as they announced their side for the match.

The backdrop to the starting XI and substitutes featured Dundee's Dens Park, rather than their own London stadium or even St James' Park.

West Ham did play at Dens Park earlier this summer in when they were held to a 2-2 draw by James McPake's men on Tayside.

The Hammers also faced Celtic and romped to a 6-2 win at Parkhead. David Moyes' side finished 6th in the English Premier League last campaign after a terrific season.

Following the announcement of their squad and the backdrop of Scottish Premiership stadium Dundee one supporter wrote on Twitter ' Dundee away??!!' whilst another posted to laughing emoji's at the club's blunder.

Another supporter highlighted the mistake as they said 'Dundee stadium in the background'.
