West Ham: Graham Potter has key injury problem for trip to Everton

Gut wrenching: Wan-Bissaka misses out again - (Getty Images)

Aaron Wan-Bissaka won't be available for selection as he continues to struggle with a stomach injury ahead of West Ham's trip to Everton.

The West Ham right back missed the side's defeats to Tottenham and Crystal Palace and was an unused substitute against Nottingham Forest.

He returned to training this week, but Monday's game against Everton comes too soon for the 27-year-old, who was named West Ham's Player of the Year last season following his £15million move from Manchester United.

Graham Potter, who is under increasing pressure after losing four of his opening five league games, confirmed Wan-Bissaka wouldn't be available for West Ham's visit to Merseyside, but said everyone else would be available for a fixture that could have a say in his future.

“It will still be Aaron (Wan-Bissaka) missing; he’s struggling with a stomach issue. Everyone else is available," Potter said.

West Ham crumbled again defensively last weekend, failing to defend crosses into the box as Palace became the latest team to come away from the London Stadium with three points.

Potter's side haven't been much better on the road, but their only points of the season came with a smash-and-grab victory away to Nottingham Forest.

Potter admits he has had conversations with the club's board - themselves feeling the heat from fan protests - about his side's start to the season, but while there was an acceptance that results had to change, he wasn't looking at Everton as a game that could determine his future.

"Yeah, of course (we have had talks), as we do every week. Positive talks,” he said.

“But we all understand as well where we're at, and we all want to improve.

"As I said before, no one's happy with where we're at. At the same time, you have to look at the context and the situation, and you have to not get caught up in the noise.

"I'd like it to change now, tomorrow, the next game, of course. We all want that. But we play sport, it's football, in the highest league, so nothing is straightforward.

"We just focus on what we can control and not worry too much about time frames and things like that, that I can't do anything about."
