Now, a man’s story about an unexpected conversation outside a Family Dollar in Illinois has sparked debate online after he claimed a woman told him his Toyota Camry was a “girl car.”
In a TikTok video, posted by Ramone (@itsramone_), Ramone recalls a woman approached him outside the store, flirted, complimented his appearance, and introduced herself. “A girl walked up to me outside of a Family Dollar the other day,” he said. “She was like, ‘Hey.’ I said, ‘Hey.’ She said, ‘You’re very handsome. What’s your name?'”
Ramone said the two chatted briefly before he walked toward his vehicle. According to his account, the conversation took an unexpected turn when the woman saw what he was driving.

After he reached his vehicle, Ramone said the woman asked, “Oh, you drive a girl car?” He said he asked what she meant. “She said, ‘I don’t know. It’s just… I expect a girl to be driving this. It’s kind of giving sassy a little bit.'”
Ramone then said he had never heard anyone describe a Toyota Camry that way. “I didn’t know a Toyota Camry was a car made exclusively for girls,” he said. He also wondered whether the comment was an attempt to find out if the vehicle belonged to a girlfriend.

“I feel like that was her way of seeing if I had a girl and that was her car that I was driving,” Ramone said in this post. “But whatever.” The clip prompted hundreds of reactions from viewers, many of whom disagreed with the woman’s characterization of the sedan.
