West Ham will not provide an update on Michail Antonio’s future until they deem it appropriate to do so.

Antonio’s contract expires on Monday and West Ham are yet to make a decision on whether he will be offered a new deal.

The 35-year-old this month returned to action for the first time since a breaking his leg in a car crash in December, as he turned out for Jamaica in their 1-0 defeat to Guatemala.

Antonio is still managing the injuries suffered in his crash and West Ham will not make a formal announcement on his future until the time is right.

The striker had to be cut out of the wreckage when his Ferrari hit a tree in Epping Forest in December and he feared he wouldn't be able to play football again.

Antonio has admitted he was "close to dying" in the crash and his return to fitness six months is considered remarkable.

West Ham will treat his situation with the careful consideration it demands. Regardless of whether West Ham decide to keep Antonio at the club, they will continue to aid him in his recovery.

Antonio, who says he still has plenty to offer at the highest level, has played 323 games for West Ham and is their all-time Premier League top goalscorer with 68 goals.

He helped the Hammers win their first major trophy in more than 40 years when they lifted the Conference League in 2023.
