West Brom to beat Nottingham Forest to signing of Championship forward - reports

Nottingham Forest look set to miss out on one of their reported transfer targets before Friday’s deadline.

The Reds have been credited with an interest in Hull City forward Kamil Grosicki, along with Scottish Premiership side Celtic.

But now fresh reports in Football Insider claim that fellow Sky Bet Championship outfit West Bromwich Albion are set to complete the signing of the Poland international.

The report also says that the Baggies are keen to add Newcastle forward Christian Atsu to their ranks in the final days of the transfer window.

Forest are currently battling with Albion at the top end of the Championship table, with the Reds in third place and two points behind the Baggies who are second.

Grosicki’s contract with the Tigers expires at the end of the season, although it is believed Hull have an option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.

It was not the first time that Forest were linked with the Hull forward, with the Reds credited with an interest in the player during Martin O’Neill’s tenure in charge, as well as during last summer shortly after Lamouchi’s arrival.

Forest have made two new signings during this month’s transfer window, with the latest striker Nuno da Costa on a permanent deal from French club Strasbourg.

The 28-year-old joins Adama Diakhaby as new faces at the City Ground, with the winger arriving on Trentside on loan from Huddersfield Town.
