West Bridgford school sends year group home after positive Covid-19 result

A secondary school in Nottinghamshire has asked a year group to self-isolate following a confirmed coronavirus case at the site.

The Nottingham Emmanuel School in West Bridgford confirmed on its website there had been a case of Covid-19 in Year 10.

Following this, the whole year group is now at home in self-isolation until October 6.

The school, however, remains open to other pupils.

The statement reads: "We have had a confirmed case of Covid 19 in Year 10.

"Consequently, following government guidelines and in accordance with directions from Public Health England, the year group will be sent home to self-isolate, returning to school on 6th October 2020.

"The rest of the school remains open as normal to all the other year groups."

It means 49 schools and other education providers have been affected by coronavirus since the start of September.

Earlier today, Nottinghamshire Live reported a primary school has had its second case in a month, forcing more pupils to self-isolate.
