West Bengal State Tenpin Bowling Championship underway in Kolkata

KOLKATA: West Bengal Tenpin Bowling Association, one of the biggest and prestigious tournaments in the city, got underway from February 1 and the final day will be on February 6.

The format of the game is going to be divided into four sections.

The tournament is directed by Beni Gopal Lahoti, assistant secretary, BTBA.

In the first round all the bowlers will play 2 blocks of 6 games. In the second round, 16 top average bowlers will play 1 block of 6 games and top 8 bowlers will qualify for the 3rd round. Again in Round 3 Top 8 Bowlers will play 6 more games and with a cumulative of 24 games top 4 bowlers will qualify for the last round which is the “Step Ladder Round”.

In this round the winner of every match will be decided based on the cumulative Pinfall of 2 games. The winner will be awarded Rs 10,000, trophy and goodies.

Runner-up will be awarded Rs 7000, Trophy, and goodies as well.

The other prizes are for 3rd and 4th position, the highest average in 6 games block, and of course to the most promising player of the tournament.
