'We're really enjoying trying find a balance': Elizabeth Hurley shares rare insight into making long distance relationship with Billy Ray Cyrus work

Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley attend the 59th Annual CMA Awards at Music City Center on November 19, 2025.

Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus’s love story is still going strong - and a shared passion of the simple life is, perhaps surprisingly, at the heart of it all.

Despite their perceived differences - something Elizabeth accepts might strike people as odd from the outside - she revealed in an interview with E! News that their mutual interest in all things nature and country living is something that’s given them “a really lovely life”.

“Nobody would look at either of us and think that's who we were, but we are,” she continued. “And I love it. I love gardening. He loves being outside in nature. We both love watching birds of prey. It's a really lovely life.”

The Bedazzled actress also explained how they’ve kept this lovely life going when living apart. She shared, “We’re very happy together. We're really enjoying trying to get this balance between America and the UK.

“He's always been based in Tennessee, for the last 35 years or something. But the good thing is that he's very country where he is in Tennessee. I’m very country where I am. And that's a really important thing in our relationship that neither of us want to be out and about.”

Despite exuding glamour, the glamorous Elizabeth explained that she and the Achy Breaky Heart singer very rarely hit the town together for the more showbiz side of things. Instead, they’re much happier just “being at home in the country and snuggling up and doing a lot of things with nature.”

The pair’s romance was thought to blossom in 2025, and speaking to People magazine, Elizabeth - who has one son, Damian Hurley with her late ex Steve Bing - confirmed the pair were indeed enjoying a moment of "bliss" together.

She added even more detail about splitting the time between his farm and her country house, revealing she's usually the one "wielding power tools in the garden whilst Billy strums his guitar under a tree."

She added, "We obsessively watch birds of prey and light lots of bonfires. It’s bliss."

For Billy Ray - who is a father of six, including superstar daughter Miley Cyrus - he shared that his romance with Elizabeth has helped to ground him after a tumultuous few years prior.

He told the outlet, “There was something in the opposites of us, I think, that maybe not only got other people’s attention but even our own.

“And I’ve never seen anybody that, in some ways, has more in common with the insanity that I have lived through in this crazy show business…I do feel at this moment a calm and a peace of mind of knowing that I’m on the right path - and certainly love feels good.”

He added, “What more could I ask for? I don’t have anything to complain about. I like how everything looks right now. I finally found this wonderful place where I’m happy.”
