Welspun Corp on Friday said the company's consolidated net profit surged nearly three times to Rs 1047.88 crore in the June quarter of the current fiscal, driven by a growth in income.
It had reported a net profit of Rs 349.16 crore in the same period a year ago, the company said in an exchange filing.
The company's total income rose to Rs 4,144.91 crore from Rs 3,586.52 crore in Q1 FY26.
The board also approved the acquisition of an additional 51 per cent equity stake in Welspun Captive Power Generation Ltd (WCPGL) from Welspun Living Ltd (WLL), a promoter group company, comprising 1,50,64,213 equity shares of a face value of Rs 10 each, at a consideration of Rs 67.66 crore, the company said.
Upon completion of the acquisition, WCPGL will become a subsidiary of the company.
In a statement, Welspun Corp said its global order book stands at Rs 24,750 crore presently.
