Weather forecast as yellow warning for snow and ice issued for all Nottinghamshire

More snow could be coming to Nottinghamshire today as the Met Office issues a weather warning.

A yellow weather warning for ice and snow is in place from around 10pm tonight (Monday, February 1) until 11.59pm tomorrow.

The Met Office states: "Snow, with a risk of widespread ice, is likely to push slowly northeast during Tuesday, bringing difficult travel conditions."

It adds there could be travel delays on roads as well as train services potentially being delayed or cancelled.

There is a chance of some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces and untreated pavements and cycle paths may be impassable.

It comes as the cold spell continues across the region with temperatures dropping tonight to around 1C.

Monday is set to get off to a dry, bright and cold start in the north of the region.

Meanwhile, cloudier in the south at first, but generally all parts will see a dry and bright afternoon, with some decent spells of sunshine developing

Maximum temperature 5C.

Into the evening, it will remain dry initially.

Then cloud and heavy rain will arrive from the west overnight, with some snow on mainly on the hills. It will feel windy and cold.

Going into Tuesday, it's predicted to be wet and windy with some hill snow possible.

Rain will then clear northwards by midday, with brighter skies and heavy showers following on behind. Turning milder with maximum temperature 8C.
