We're gunning for revenge at Sheffield Wednesday, says Nottingham Forest star

Nottingham Forest will travel to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, keen to get revenge.

The Reds return to Championship action after a three-month break looking to maintain their promotion bid with just nine games remaining.

Forest’s recent record against the Owls is wretched, and Joe Worrall is keen to make amends after their 4-0 City Ground thrashing before Christmas.

That 4-0 defeat on Trentside ensured Wednesday kept up their impressive form over the Reds, having won nine of the last 10, largely thanks to Jordan Rhodes’ first-half treble and a Fernando Forestieri strike.

“We owe Sheffield Wednesday one as well because they did us at The City Ground,” Worrall said.

“It is a great stadium to go to, Hillsborough, and Sheffield Wednesday are a good team in their own right.”

The game will feel very different to what it would have done back in March, with no supporters present, and Worrall says it’s important to put those factors aside and focus on the job in hand.

“It will be an interesting fixture but with the times at the minute, with the football and an empty stadium, you have to put it all to one side and think that we have the remaining games left, it is the same for everybody, 11 v 11 and we will give it a good go,” said the defender.

Forest have nine games left to secure their place in the play-offs, and Worrall says it’s important the players don’t dwell on the defeat against Millwall three months ago.

“We have had a fantastic season, it is starting afresh but instead of thinking about it like that, we have to carry on doing what we had been doing.

“The last game we played was Millwall at home which wasn’t great, but if you have a look at the times we have had bad results, we have always bounced back straight away.

“We don’t dwell on things like that and we have had a long time to think about that game, I have still not watched it back because I don’t want to, but it is still on our minds that we need to put the last result behind us and push on.”
