We ordered from Schuh's discount site which promises savings on huge brands including Adidas, Converse and more

Finding a good deal on a new pair of shoes isn't something you come across everyday, especially designer ones.

High street retailer Schuh offers customers that chance - it's just hidden from view within its website.

Schuh Imperfects offers thousands of pairs of shoes for a discounted price, including its own brand shoes and designer names such as Calvin Klein, Converse, Adidas and Timberland.

For example, the site offers a pair of Tommy Hilfiger Icon Flag Sneakers worth £115 for £44.99.

Customers can get their hands on the designer shoes for cheap because each pair has scuffs, discoloration or "other individual quirks".

We ordered a pair of shoes from the site to see what it's all about and here's what happened:

Finding the right pair was a long process

While the website is easy to navigate, there's so much choice that it's difficult to find the right pair of shoes.

Once you've selected the type of shoe you'd like, a whole selection of that shoe appear - all with different "quirks".

It's a lot of scrolling and back and forth to pick the right pair.

The site provides a standard photograph of the shoes, along with images of the actual shoes you'll receive, with all the things 'wrong' with them right there to see.

One pair may have more discoloration, marks or stains than another, even if they're the same shoes you want.

After to-ing and fro-ing, I settled on a pair of white 2790 Multi Flatform Superga trainers with barely visible marks on the front of the left shoe.

The shoes were dropped from £67 to £12.99.

There's no next day delivery

Hoping to have my new shoes with me quickly, I was eager to find the ‘next day delivery’ option when I processed my order - only to find there was in fact no such option.

Only standard delivery and click and collect are available at Schuh Imperfects - though the shoes were delivered within three days.

The shoes were barely marked

Upon arrival I was concerned the shoes wouldn’t look how they did online.

Fortunately, the marks were minuscule and barely noticeable, proving all that scrolling was worth it.

However, it wasn’t all perfect

Though the whole process had been fairly easy, the shoes that arrived were not exactly what I’d ordered.

While the style and colour were correct, I ordered a size 6 - only to have a 6 ½ arrive at my door.

Which means I’ll now have to go through the returns process.
