'We lost him' - Arsenal fans react as Mykhaylo Mudryk makes major Chelsea transfer U-turn

Chelsea are close to reaching agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk for Arsenal's January transfer window priority Mykhaylo Mudryk. The Gunners appeared to be in pole position to sign the 22-year-old, but after Chelsea sent Paul Winstanley and other senior members to talk to their Shakhtar counterparts, Mudryk looks likely to become a Chelsea player.

A third bid was submitted by Arsenal earlier this week believed to be in the region of £75million - £80million, but the Blues have now offered £62million up front with £26.5million available in add-ons, as revealed by Fabrizio Romano.

Despite it being clear a transfer to Arsenal was the player's priority, The Athletic have now said he is keen on joining the Blue side of London with a seven-year contract agreed and a medical planned to take place soon in London.

Amid this latest shocking development in the Mudryk transfer saga, here is how Arsenal fans reacted to likely losing out on their main target for the transfer window.

@johnston277 - If after all this, all this claiming he wants The Arsenal, he goes to Chelsea, then Arsenal are better off without him, it would never have been about the club, it would just be about a move. If you wanna go to a club that's 10th, rather than top, it says it all

@LazioAnsah - Mudryk to choose between Chelsea and Arsenal. It is an easy decision if he's only considering this season and next season

@GoonerHeb - Surely Mudryk goes to the club and says “accept Arsenals offer because I’m not going to Chelsea”

@44124JA - Arsenal might as well get Pires to play on the wing for us if mudryk don’t join

@Arvin_TR28 - If Arsenal lose tomorrow and Chelsea sign Mudryk. Think that’s it for us.

@DarrenArsenal1 - Too many instalments and not enough up front cash. Oh well

@only1chiefff - Player open to getting it done, we lost him already. Really tired of arsenal and transfers. It’s the end
