'We have to' - Lukasz Fabianski sets West Ham Premier League goal amid relegation struggles

West Ham United goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski says the focus must be on staying in the Premier League this season.

The Hammers are currently five points from safety with five games remaining and lost on Saturday against Crystal Palace in a thrilling encounter which finished 4-3.

Despite taking the lead at Selhurst Park, David Moyes' side found themselves 3-1 down after conceding three goals in 15 first-half minutes.

Believing the east London outfit would be able to do enough to pick up all three points and edge closer to safety, the Polish shotstopper said the team must keep going and acquire the necessary points to avoid the drop to the Championship.

“It’s always difficult when you lose games, especially when we’re in the situation that we find ourselves in,” he admitted to West Ham's website.

“So, obviously we’re not pleased with the result on Saturday because we were hoping to put in a good performance that would get us something from the game, but we lost that one.

“We have to continue to work and focus on the rest of the games, to get as many points as we can to keep us up.”
