Wayne Rooney hotel party girls left 'petrified' after being 'sent death threats'

The three women pictured in a hotel room with Wayne Rooney are apparently 'petrified' after receiving death threats.

The pals previously apologised to the footballer for embarrassing him and handed him the copyright of the images for just £1.

In one of the photos, a woman was pictured bending over beside the sleeping star, dressed only in her underwear, with the caption 'Mooney Rooney'.

There was no suggestion that Rooney, who manages Derby, was involved in any wrongdoing.

But he admitted he made a mistake following the incident last month and said sorry to his family and football club.

It has now been reported that the three women involved have received death threats, with no suggestion of any connection to Rooney or anyone acting for him.

A source close to the pals told The Sun: "They have had death threats, which has petrified them.

“They were on a night out after lockdown and obviously flattered someone like Wayne wanted to spend time with them.

“But they didn’t do anything wrong and don’t deserve the horrible response.”

The hotel pictures were released after Rooney was asked for £10,000 to keep the photos hidden from wife Coleen.

Rooney’s lawyers contacted police after he was photographed in a hotel with the group.

Police are believed to have opened a blackmail probe over the Instagram message, which included one photo and a caption saying 'Morning Wayne 10 grand please mate of Coleen sees this.'

However, they later dropped the investigation and decided no offence had been committed.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "On Monday 26 July Cheshire Constabulary received reports of a possible blackmail relating to a number of images circulating online.

"Officers have spoken to the person involved and are satisfied that no offences have taken place.

"The person involved has also stated that they do not wish to take the matter any further."

There is no suggestion the women, who were seen joking around in the images, were knowingly involved in any criminal activity.

One of the pictures showed Rooney dozing with the caption ‘Sleepy Wayne’ as a woman made a peace sign to the camera.

It is understood Rooney had earlier met model Tayler Ryan, Elise Melvin and Brooke Morgan, all aged 21, in the Chinawhite night club in Manchester.

He later joined the women, from Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, at their £60 a night hotel in the city.

After the photos of Rooney, apparently taken inside a bedroom at the budget hotel, were widely circulated on social media, the player’s legal team contacted Greater Manchester Police.
