Watershed forced to cancel film screenings as power cut hits Bristol city centre

The Watershed has reportedly been forced to cancel planned screenings this evening after a power cut hit the city centre.

A number of films were due to be shown at the Canon's Road venue but bosses were forced to call these off.

Pain and Glory was due to be shown at 8pm, The Souvenir at 8.10pm, Bait at 8.30pm and Inna de Yard at 8.40pm.

Head of commercial operations for the arthouse cinema James Taljaard tweeted to apologise to customers shortly before 8pm.

He said: "Apologies we've got a power cut on Harbourside so all screenings have been cancelled tonight. Everyone who has booked a ticket will get a refund or can book for another day.

Hundreds of homes and businesses were plunged into darkness shortly after 7pm on Monday, September 9.

Almost 400 properties have been affected and WPD warns the outage could continue for hours.
