Celtics center Tacko Fall is the tallest player in the NBA at 7-foot-5. Unfortunately for the C’s, the undrafted rookie’s height became a bit of a problem this week.
Fall missed Boston’s season opener on Wednesday after being held out of practice since Friday under the NBA’s concussion protocol. The injury happened when the former UCF star hit his head on what he called a “low ceiling,” at the team’s practice facility while washing his hands.
MassLive reported the detail, following up on head coach Brad Steven stating that Fall simply hit his head last week.
The Auerbach Center opened in June 2018 and has specifically designed furniture and other height accommodations in place for NBA-sized people, according to BostonCommon.com.
But, even Fall is taller than the average NBA player.
Stevens said that the center is on his way to recovery and added that the seven-footer would not have been a part of the Celtics’ season-opening active roster if he had not been concussed. Fall signed a two-way contract and is expected to be in the G League for most of the season.
