Watch shocking moment quick-thinking car owner locks man inside plush motor so police can arrest him

This is the shocking moment an alleged Scots crook was repeatedly locked inside a car by the motor's owner.

Rebecca Cheuk was left 'shaken' after she realised a 'random guy' was sitting in her plush motor.

A man has since been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

Police were called to Buckhaven in Fife (Facebook)

The 21-year-old's barking dogs and a 'male voice' alerted her at around 9pm on Wednesday.

Quick-thinking Rebecca, from Buckhaven in Fife, called police then locked him inside her Mercedes A45.

Anytime the man tried to get out of the driver's seat, Rebecca locked him in again.

In a public Facebook post student, Rebecca, wrote: "I heard a strange male voice outside my house and a car door shutting.

"Next thing you know my dogs went mental, barking constantly.

"I look out and down my drive to find a random guy in my car."

"I went to phone 999 straight away for the police and kept on locking him in my car whenever he tried to get out, about 100 times."

Footage shows the man furiously try to get out of the vehicle.

But before he knew it, the car alarm was set off and he could be seen under the glaring interior lights.

A number of police officers arrived on the scene who pulled the man from the motor and cuffed him, before he was led away.

On Thursday morning police confirmed the incident, stating that a 49-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection.

He is expected to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court at a later date.

A Police Scotland spokesman told the Record: “We can confirm that a 49-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted car theft, which took place in the West High Street area of Buckhaven, at around 9pm on Wednesday, September 29.

"He is expected to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court at a later date.”
