Watch: Raheem Morris reunites with 3-year-old boy he helped save in Las Vegas

Raheem Morris came to the rescue of a 3-year-old boy in Las Vegas recently, helping save his life after he was found unconscious at the bottom of the pool. The boy had no pulse when he was pulled out of the water and needed reviving by a doctor who was on site, but it was Morris’ quick thinking to grab the AED (automatic external defibrillator) that also helped avoid tragedy.

Morris reunited with the child and his family at the Rams’ facility recently, which was featured on “Good Morning America” Friday. The doctor, Andrew Oleksyn, was also at the Rams’ facility to share what happened in those scary moments in Vegas, still visibly emotional over what happened poolside.

Watching Morris give Wyatt a big hug was touching, especially after hearing the father’s account of the events.

“I was sitting in a chair and my 7-year-old son runs over and says, ‘Wyatt, Wyatt. He’s under the water. There was no heartbeat. There was no pulse. When I picked him up, he was actually face down, his nose at the bottom of the pool,” the father said.

“My kids are all in the pool and I hear a scream. I see Wyatt laying poolside and he’s blue. And I could just feel the panic of it all and you feel like you’re alone and I just looked at her in the face and asked her, ‘Where’s the AED machine?’”

Dr. Oleksyn said when he saw Wyatt, “I knew that he was in trouble.”

Fortunately, Wyatt was OK after being taken to the hospital thanks to the actions and bravery of both Morris and Dr. Oleksyn. Morris credited the Rams’ first-aid and AED training for his preparedness in a scary situation like that one, showing the importance of proper training and teaching.
