WATCH: New Packers RB Dexter Williams scores 97-yard TD for Notre Dame

The Green Bay Packers added a legitimate playmaker at running back by taking Notre Dame’s Dexter Williams in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL draft.

Watch above as Williams scored a 97-yard touchdown, the second-longest run in Notre Dame history and the longest rushing touchdown in the history of Lane Stadium.

The run shows Williams’ patience, vision and acceleration, plus his long speed to outrun the defense. He pressed the line of scrimmage, found the cutback lane and exploded through the hole, and no one on Virginia Tech’s defense could catch him.

Williams finished the game with 178 rushing yards and three scores on only 17 rushes, helping Notre Dame race to a big road win.

Big plays were commonplace for Williams.

According to Dane Brugler’s draft guide, Williams produced eight runs of 30 or more yards in 2018, including seven touchdowns.
