Martin O’Neill made sure Marcelo Saracchi’s contribution was recognised in the heart of Celtic’s title celebrations, in a behind-the-scenes video.
The on-loan Uruguayan left-back has become a favourite in the stands, thanks to his fearless and energy-driven performances, mainly as a substitute.

In the dressing room after the 3–1 win over Hearts, the players formed a huddle around their manager as the in-house cameras rolled from Celtic TV.
O’Neill delivered his post-match address, then paused and called Saracchi into the centre of the floor. The Uruguayan stepped forward to a chorus of shouts and whistles from team-mates who already knew what was coming.
O’Neill wrapped an arm around the full-back, looked around the room and, with a smile, described him in two words: “Special character.” The line drew an immediate reaction, with players clapping, cheering and banging their hands off benches and lockers.
