WATCH: Lonzo Ball, Zion Williamson connect for alley-oops in scrimmage

The New Orleans Pelicans hosted an open practice on Saturday, welcoming thousands of fans into the Smoothie King Center as one of the unofficial kick-offs of the 2019-20 season.

The roster was split into two teams with Jrue Holiday, JJ Redick and Brandon Ingram the notable inclusions on the blue team and Zion Williamson, Josh Hart and Lonzo Ball were the highlights of the white team.

Ball and Williamson made a point to create highlights on the evening, largely with the other involved. The first highlight of the evening came as Ball and Williamson found themselves on a fastbreak with the former setting up the latter for the dunk.

Ball also showcased his new shooting stroke by burying his second three-pointer attempted on the night.

Ball also showed his typical unselfish nature by setting up Jahlil Okafor for an easy dunk later on the in the game.

The last highlight of the game would be a reverse of the first as Williamson found Ball for a backdoor lob.

After the game, the rookies were subjected to some friendly hazing as each took the mic and sang a section of a song to the crowd. For all his talents on the court, Williamson has a long way to go on the mic.

New Orleans will open the preseason officially on Monday when they take on the Hawks on Oct. 7.
