Watch: Julio Jones says he won’t hold out of Falcons training camp

Julio Jones got a last-minute pay raise just before Falcons training camp last year. Jones reported to work and put in another dominant season, leading the NFL in a number of categories, including receiving yards.

Jones is still working out a long-term contract extension with the team, but he says won’t hold out even if there’s no deal by camp. TMZ has the scoop:

Heading into the 2019 season, Jones ranks No. 12 among wide receivers in average contract value per year. Assuming he gets a new deal, it should put him on top.

Not only does Jones’ extremely high level of play make him deserving of more money than any other receiver in the league, he’s also refreshingly drama-free. This offseason reinforced that idea more than ever.

Antonio Brown and Odell Beckham Jr. are up there with Jones and DeAndre Hopkins as the top receivers in the NFL. Brown and Beckham were both troublesome enough to get traded this offseason, though. By contrast, Jones and Hopkins go about their business without an ounce of diva to be found.

All four of these receivers are great in their own ways, but Jones is the best pure football player among them. He deserves this raise.
