Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton shared a warm embrace upon discovering they will get the 2025 Ryder Cup underway.
Play begins at the Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York on Friday but the opening ceremony was brought forward 24 hours due to forecast thunderstorms on Thursday.
Though as originally planned, pairings for the opening foursomes session were announced on Thursday with Team Europe captain Luke Donald opting to start Rahm and Hatton.
The pair will face Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Thomas in the opening foursomes match when the match gets under way at 12.10pm BST on Friday.
Upon hearing the announcement from Donald while gathered with the rest of Team Europe, Rahm and Hatton showed how happy they were about being trusted for the opening match.

Hatton has also revealed his pride at getting things underway for Europe alongside Rahm.
He said: "It's an honour to go out first. I had that opportunity in Rome, as well. I'm looking forward to it, to try and get some blue on the board early.
"It should be fun and I would imagine it will be pretty noise. It will be a tough game [against Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Thomas] but me and Jon, we'll try our best."
The second match sees Ludvig Aberg and Matt Fitzpatrick team up to face world No1 Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley before Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood reunite to take on Collin Morikawa and Harris English.
The line-up for the first session will be completed as Robert MacIntyre and Viktor Hovland take on Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay.
