WATCH: Jets’ Jamal Adams wins fine appeal for hit on Baker Mayfield

It is uncommon for a Twitter rant to become justified, but the NFL has made a decision that backs Jets safety Jamal Adams’ assessment of his own hit on Baker Mayfield.

According to NFL Network, appeal officer Derrick Brooks rescinded the fine issued to Brooks following a roughing the passer call in the first quarter of the Browns’ 23-3 win versus the Jets in Week 2.

After the hit and the subsequent flag, Adams took to Twitter expressing his thoughts on the officiating decision with a profanity-laced post. The tweet is now deleted, but the safety called the NFL a joke in the aftermath of the fine, saying that he’d signed up to play football not two-hand touch.

It seems that this time, the NFL agrees with the players’ assessment of real football.
