Watch: Irish brass band record spine tingling virtual performance during lockdown

A local brass brand from Drogheda, Co. Louth created a virtual concert to keep themselves busy during lockdown.

Organised by musical director John Carpenter the group of musicians spent weeks practicing their parts in order to prepare for their online concert.

The band were keen to keep playing during lockdown so Mr Carpenter decided it would be a good idea to organise a virtual performace.

Speaking to the Irish Daily Mirror he said: "A lot of people, including our band have been stuck at home not knowing what to do with themselves.

"A lot of community organisations have been looking at ways to keep people occupied and virtual bands was one thing that we could do.

"We wanted to keep our members keen and they were eager to play so i gave them all parts to practice.

"After a few weeks, once it all came together they sent me their parts and i put it all together.

Posting the video on their Youtube Channel the brass band said: "With thanks to our musical director Captain John Carpenter of the Army No 1 Band.

"He's been keeping us busy during these coronavirus lockdown times.

"He sent us parts and clips to practice along to before a few of us recorded sound and video to come together virtually. Hope you all enjoy."
