WATCH: Highlights from Bears’ scripted scrimmage on Saturday

The Chicago Bears were supposed to host the San Francisco 49ers for what would’ve been the third preseason game Saturday at Soldier Field. Instead, the Bears held a scrimmage at Soldier Field just two weeks ahead of their season opener against the Detroit Lions.

This practice was entirely scripted, which allowed Matt Nagy to test his team in certain situations, including red zone, goal line and third-and-long. With no preseason games to prepare for the regular season, Nagy said this entire scrimmage served as a dress rehearsal for game day — for players, coaches and staff.

The Bears released some highlights from Saturday’s scripted scrimmage, which included a look at some impressive throws by Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles, more tight end dominance by Jimmy Graham and Cole Kmet, Darnell Mooney making plays, as well as some great defensive plays by Khalil Mack and Kyle Fuller.
