For the first time since joining the Tennessee Titans’ practice squad on Tuesday, veteran wide receiver Golden Tate made his practice debut in Nashville.
Tate, 33, hasn’t played a single snap for any team this season after spending the last two campaigns with the New York Giants, where he tallied 1,064 receiving yards and eight scores in what was a disappointing tenure there.
However, Tate was consistently productive in the five years prior, finishing with 1,000 receiving yards or more in three of them. His best campaign came with the Detroit Lions in 2014, when he posted a career-high 1,331 yards.
Signing with the Titans is a homecoming for Tate, who was born and went to high school in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He went on to play his college ball at Notre Dame before getting drafted in the second round of the 2010 NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks, where he went on to win a Super Bowl.

Tate could get promoted to the active roster sooner rather than later, as the Titans are dealing with several injuries at wide receiver. A.J. Brown is banged-up, Marcus Johnson is out for the season, and Julio Jones is on IR.
It remains to be seen if he’ll be ready to play in Week 12 against the New England Patriots, though. That will depend upon how quickly he gets up to speed. From the video, it looks like he’s still got some spring in his step.
