WATCH: Fans blame ‘Madden’ curse for Antonio Brown’s frostbite

Between Antonio Brown’s grievance with the NFL and the news that the foot injury he missed much of training camp because of is actually frostbite, fans are building a strong case for the fact that the Madden curse is to blame.

A player’s appearance on the video game’s cover is chronically associated with an impending failure, injury or unfortunate circumstance. For Pittsburgh Steelers fans, the fallout between the team and star wide receiver Antonio Brown was easy to point to as a product of his cover shot on Madden 19.

Following Brown filing a grievance with the NFL to try and wear his old, career-long, football helmet (which no longer meets NFL standards) and the news that his training camp injury is actually frostbite, fans took a closer look at his cursed cover and found that the video game’s engine is also called “Frostbite,” and the logo is displayed beneath Brown’s picture on the cover.

An arbitrator ruled against Brown on Monday and the Madden curse claimed a victim again.
