It’s always interesting to see how professional athletes workout behind the scenes as they try to stay on top of their game. Here’s a video of Falcons guard Wes Schweitzer doing some heavy lifting that he shared on Instagram.
Schweitzer is entering a contract year for the Falcons. If he sticks around, his cap hit for 2019 will be just north of $2 million.
The team has signed three guards in free agency though, beginning with two new projected starters in James Carpenter and Jamon Brown. They also signed career backup Adam Gettis this week.
That brings into question the status of the other guards on the roster, notably Schweitzer and Brandon Fusco, neither of whom had a great 2018 season.
