Watch: Ex-Charger Chris McCain earns first MMA win with TKO

Former Chargers defensive end Chris McCain made the decision to hang up the cleats and swap them out for a pair of gloves.

McCain made his debut on Saturday night in former Chargers great, linebacker Shawne Merriman’s MMA promotion, Lights Out Xtreme Fighting.

McCain fought Jamal Harris (0-2) at the event in Burbank, CA and won the fight by TKO at 38 seconds of the second round with a strong right kick that sent Harris to the ground and finished him off with a few strikes to the head.

Here is the video courtesy of Orange County Register’s Gilbert Manzano:

Wide receiver Keenan Allen was front and center to witness his former teammate’s victory.

It was indeed a great start for McCain, who has aspirations of eventually fighting the Jon “Bones” Jones, the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.
