Hitting The Apex is a motorcycle documentary I've mentioned time and time again as a must-watch for race fans. However, I must say that Brad Pitt's narration of the MotoGP documentary elevates the entire experience. Mind you, this was in 2015, and before I knew just how much of a motorcycle fanatic Pitt is—ever since I found out he's an avid biker, I've been dying to hear him speak more about life on two wheels.
Unfortunately, Pitt is known for not doing many personal interviews, and that goes doubly for podcasts. So, when I saw that he was on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, another motorcycle fanatic, I nearly lost it in the hopes of motorcycle chitchat, and it didn't disappoint.
The whole podcast is more than 2 hours and 30 minutes, and the group covers too many topics to list, but if you want to skip straight to where the motorcycle talk starts, go to around 17 minutes and 30 seconds. Here, Shepard and Pitt discuss when they first met at an AA meeting, and Pitt approaches Shepard to ask him if he was going to a motorcycle track day and whether he'd like to go together in a helicopter.
No, I'm not jealous because whatever beyond jealous is, that's what I am.
Pitt goes on to verify that Shepard is fast, and also lets us know that Channing Tatum took to riding motorcycles annoyingly quickly. The guys get into talking about the Isle of Man TT, Pitt's upcoming docuseries about it, and Tatum's feature flick about the mountain course at around 24:35. After that, they delve into where Pitt's love of motorcycles comes from and how it has evolved over the years: check it out below.
When it comes to celebrities who love motorcycles, who's your favorite?
