Watch: CCTV captures driver tailgating tram on Nottingham tracks

Shocking CCTV shows the moment an uninsured driver drives along a tram line in Nottingham.

Levi Gomez, 27, of Wadhurst Gardens, St Ann’s, Nottingham, drove onto the tracks next to the University of Nottingham campus on 6 April 2025, before tailgating a tram.

A crew inside a passing ambulance spotted the danger, with one paramedic dragging Gomez out of the vehicle. In doing so, he was assaulted by Gomez.

A judge heard Gomez appeared to be heavily intoxicated but refused to be tested following the incident. Gomez pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving without a licence, possession of a Class B drug, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and assaulting an emergency worker.

He was jailed for 10 months, suspended for two years, and disqualified from driving for five years on Tuesday, 10 March.
