The annual moratorium on in-season trades for the 2021-22 campaign is almost upon us, and by now we have a pretty solid idea about what it is this team hopes to accomplish in terms of both roster building and salary cap management.
It is clear the Celtics believe in the direction their team is heading, and it is mostly a question of how much and how hard they will try to improve it to compete in the present while also trying to duck the NBA’s luxury tax this season in anticipation of dodging the league’s dreaded “repeater” tax, which hits franchises hard for spending over the luxury tax line for three out of four seasons.
